Whole Wheat Bread
Whole wheat bread is a wholesome and hearty loaf perfect for everyday use. Made with wholemeal flour, it has a rustic texture, slightly nutty flavor and soft interior with a golden crust. Ideal for sandwiches or served alongside meals.
Ingredients
- 500 g whole wheat flour
- 300 ml lukewarm water
- 7 g dry yeast
- 10 g salt
- 20 ml extra virgin olive oil
How to Make It
- Dissolve yeast in part of the lukewarm water
- Place flour in a large bowl
- Add yeast mixture and remaining water gradually
- Mix until a dough forms
- Add salt and olive oil
- Knead for about 10 minutes until smooth
- Cover and let rise for about 2 hours
- Shape into a loaf
- Place on a lined baking tray
- Let rise again for about 30 minutes
- Bake at 200°C for about 40 minutes
- Cool completely before slicing
Tips
- Knead well for better structure
- Allow full rising time for softer bread
- Add seeds for extra texture
- Cool before cutting to avoid dense slices

- Store in a paper bag for up to 2 days
- Can be frozen sliced
