Ingredients (24cm Tray)

Dark Chocolate: 160 g
Almond Meal: 220 g
Sugar: 120 g
Butter: 120 g
Eggs: 4 medium
Orange Zest: From 1 orange
Rum: 1 shot

How to Make It

Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 35 mins | Total Time: 50 mins

  • Step 1: Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Let it cool slightly.
  • Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  • Step 3: Fold in almond meal, orange zest, and rum, then gently mix in the melted chocolate and butter.
  • Step 4: Pour the batter into a greased and lined 24 cm baking tray.
  • Step 5: Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30–35 minutes. The cake should have a light crust and moist center.
  • Step 6: Cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
