Almond Meal: | 220 g |
Sugar: | 120 g |
Butter: | 120 g |
Eggs: | 4 medium |
Orange Zest: | From 1 orange |
Rum: | 1 shot |
How to Make It
Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 35 mins | Total Time: 50 mins
- Step 1: Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Let it cool slightly.
- Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
- Step 3: Fold in almond meal, orange zest, and rum, then gently mix in the melted chocolate and butter.
- Step 4: Pour the batter into a greased and lined 24 cm baking tray.
- Step 5: Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 30–35 minutes. The cake should have a light crust and moist center.
- Step 6: Cool completely, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
