Sweet Peppers Pan Cooked
A quick and traditional Southern Italian side dish made with sweet friggitelli peppers sautéed in olive oil. Light and flavourful, they are perfect alongside meat, fish, or crusty bread.
Ingredients
- 400 g friggitelli peppers (14 oz)
- 2 garlic cloves
- 40 ml extra virgin olive oil (3 tbsp)
- Salt to taste
How to Make It
- Wash and dry the friggitelli peppers
- Leave the peppers whole
- Lightly crush the garlic cloves
- Heat olive oil in a large pan
- Add garlic and cook until fragrant
- Add peppers to the pan
- Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally
- Season with salt
- Cook for about 12 to 15 minutes until soft and slightly blistered
- Remove garlic before serving
- Serve warm
Tips
- Do not overcrowd the pan for better blistering
- Keep peppers whole for traditional texture
- Cook on medium heat to avoid burning
- Finish with a drizzle of olive oil before serving

- Keeps 2 days refrigerated
- Best eaten freshly cooked
- Not suitable for freezing
