Seed Crackers
These homemade seed crackers are thin, crisp, and full of flavour. Made with mixed seeds and simple ingredients, they are perfect for healthy snacking or serving with dips.
Ingredients
- 150 g all-purpose flour (1 1/4 cups)
- 50 g mixed seeds such as sunflower, sesame, flax, pumpkin (1/3 cup)
- 40 ml extra virgin olive oil (3 tbsp)
- 90 ml water (6 tbsp)
- 5 g salt (1 tsp)
How to Make It
- Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F
- In a bowl combine flour, seeds, and salt
- Add olive oil and water
- Mix until a dough forms
- Knead briefly until smooth
- Roll the dough very thin on a floured surface
- Transfer to a baking tray lined with paper
- Score into squares
- Prick the surface with a fork
- Bake for about 18 to 20 minutes until golden
- Cool completely before breaking
Tips
- Roll very thin for extra crunch
- Press seeds lightly into dough before baking
- Rotate the tray halfway for even colour
- Add dried herbs for extra flavour
Storage
- Keeps 5 days in airtight container at room temperature
- Best eaten within 2 days for crispness
- Not suitable for freezing
