Grissini
Grissini are thin, crunchy breadsticks typical of Italian bakeries. Light and crisp, they are perfect as a snack or served with antipasti. Simple to prepare, they can also be flavored with herbs or seeds.
Ingredients
- 400 g plain flour
- 220 ml lukewarm water
- 7 g dry yeast
- 30 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 8 g salt
- Semolina or flour for dusting
How to Make It
- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water
- Place flour in a bowl
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil
- Mix until a dough forms
- Add salt and knead until smooth
- Cover and let rise for about 1 hour
- Roll dough into a rectangle
- Cut into thin strips
- Stretch each strip gently
- Place on a lined baking tray
- Bake at 200°C for 15–20 minutes
- Cook until golden and crisp

- Cool before storing
Storage
- Store in an airtight container for several days
- Not suitable for freezing
