About This Dish

Farfalle Panna e Salmone is a creamy, quick pasta dish that embodies comfort. The combination of cream and smoked salmon creates a silky sauce, while a touch of curry adds an unexpected but delicious balance. Perfect for weeknights, family dinners, or when you want something rich but easy.

Ingredients

220g farfalle pasta
150g smoked salmon (cut into strips or pieces)
300ml cream
1 tsp curry powder (optional)
Black pepper (optional)
Salt and olive oil to taste

How to Make It

Prep Time: 5 mins | Cook Time: 15 mins | Total Time: 20 mins

  • Step 1: Cook farfalle pasta in salted boiling water until al dente.
  • Step 2: In a large pan, warm the cream with a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Step 3: Add smoked salmon strips and stir gently into the cream.
  • Step 4: Season with salt, pepper, and optional curry powder.
  • Step 5: Drain pasta and toss it into the sauce. Serve immediately.

Tucci’s Tips

  • Don’t overcook the salmon — it should stay tender and silky.
  • Add a splash of pasta cooking water if the sauce gets too thick.
  • The curry is optional but highly recommended for extra depth of flavour.

Variations

  • Lighter Version: Use half cream and half milk for a less rich sauce.
  • Herb Twist: Add fresh dill or parsley for freshness.
  • Luxury Touch: Swap smoked salmon for fresh salmon fillet cubes, lightly seared.

Storage & Thank You

Best enjoyed immediately, but leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.

Can it be frozen? Not recommended, as the creamy sauce may separate when reheated.
