Crispy Potato Fritters
Crispy potato fritters are rustic, golden and incredibly satisfying. Grated potatoes combined with a light batter create a crunchy exterior while remaining soft inside. Perfect as a snack, appetizer or simple side dish.
Ingredients
- 500 g potatoes
- 100 g plain flour
- 150 ml water
- 1 egg
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
How to Make It
- Peel and grate the potatoes
- Squeeze well to remove excess moisture
- In a bowl mix flour, egg and water to form a batter
- Add grated potatoes and mix well
- Season with salt and pepper
- Heat oil in a frying pan
- Spoon small portions into the hot oil
- Flatten slightly with a spoon
- Fry until golden on both sides
- Remove and drain on paper towel
- Serve hot and crispy
Tips
- Remove excess moisture for extra crunch
- Do not overcrowd the pan
- Fry in medium hot oil for even cooking
- Serve immediately for best texture
Storage
- Best eaten fresh
- Not suitable for freezing
