Chili Oil

A simple and flavorful oil infused with dried chili peppers. Perfect for adding heat to pasta, pizza, or grilled dishes.

Ingredients

  • 30 g dried chili peppers (1 oz)
  • 1 L extra virgin olive oil (4 cups)

How to Make It

  • Sanitize bottles thoroughly
  • Wear gloves and remove chili stems
  • Crumble chilies into small pieces
  • Place chilies into a bottle using a funnel
  • Pour in olive oil
  • Seal the bottle tightly
  • Let rest at least 48 hours before using

Tips

  • Use fully dried chilies for best result
  • Wear gloves to avoid irritation
  • Adjust quantity for desired heat
  • Store away from light to preserve flavour

Storage

  • Keeps 5 to 6 months in a cool dark place
  • Best after resting period
  • Not suitable for freezing
